Laser Therapy

How it works?

Therapeutic laser, or low-level laser therapy, is a non-invasive treatment that uses light to promote healing and reduce pain and inflammation. It is backed by scientific evidence for various conditions, particularly in pain management and wound healing. Therapeutic lasers work through a process called photobiomodulation. This involves the absorption of specific wavelengths of light by cellular components, leading to several biological effects including increased ATP production, enhanced cell metabolism, reduction of inflammation, pain reduction and improved blood flow. Laser treatment can also be used to stimulate acupuncture points that may be too sensitive or for patients that do not tolerate needle insertion.

Conditions that benefit?

  • Musculoskeletal Pain: Conditions such as arthritis, tendinitis, and bursitis.
  • Soft Tissue Injuries: Sprains, strains, and sports injuries.
  • Wound Healing: Enhancing the healing of wounds, including diabetic ulcers and surgical wounds.
  • Nerve Pain: Neuropathic pain and nerve regeneration
  • Joint Disorders: Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Is it safe?

Our laser treatments are safe, painless, and can significantly improve the quality of life for your pets. Both the patient and the practitioner should wear protective eyewear to prevent eye damage when using certain lasers depending on its class. Low level laser therapy should be avoided over cancerous lesions, directly over the thyroid, and in pregnant pets over the abdomen.
